El espacio visitado, que por su naturaleza es transitorio, sirve como contenedor de memoria y vehículo para compartir un mensaje que desea permanecer y ser recordado. Areán se propuso apropiarse de ese recuerdo ajeno a través del objeto de la postal y re-interpretarlo, imaginarlo y reinventarlo a través de la pintura. El resultado final fueron pequeñas acuarelas que se muestran junto con el texto original de la postal. Una vez terminada la intervención se abre al público y posteriormente se destruye la pieza. Para la primera edición Obra en Obra se editó una publicación por Sicomoro Edicoines donde se guarda la memoria del proyecto. La propuesta consistió en realizar un mural de Tlatelolco con perspectiva forzada en dos de las esquinas de la construcción. Con la intervención realizada me propuse abrir una ventana por la que se mire, desde el interior de un espacio doméstico, el exterior de otro espacio habitacional; uno que es representante del abuso del poder sucedido en nuestro pasado cercano. La intervención busca evidenciar, además, la conexión de ese pasado con la realidad que vivimos en nuestro país actualmente. Tlatelolco vive en la memoria colectiva de todos los mexicanos como el lugar donde ocurrió uno de los mayores crímenes de Estado sobre la población civil del país. La estrategia fue enfocarse en los lugares de indeterminación de la obra, es decir los que no están definidos por el texto y que de alguna manera son dejados a la imaginación del lector. El trabajo realizado se llevó a cabo a través de una investigación sobre la Guerra CIvil Española y sus efectos en las personas que sufrieron el exilio.&nbsp; El resultado de esta producción se al exilio a miles de Republicanos Españoles al término de la Guerra Civil. Una de estas personas fue su abuelo, quien al cruzar la frontera con Francia fue confinado en el campo de internamiento de Argelès-sur-mer y más tarde exiliado a México sin nunca más volver a España. Con la intensión de imprimir un significado reivindicativo, Areán realizó el recorrido en sentido contrario: desde la playa de Argelès, hasta la Ciudad de Barcelona. El humo es una señal inequívoca de que es necesario tomar una acción. Esta señal está inscrita en lo más profundo de nuestro instinto de supervivencia. Me interesa la forma en que este significado puede ser transferido a un contexto actual, ya sea dentro de nuestro entorno político, o como una aviso del síntoma de nuestro acontecer social. <img
